This extremely difficult 12.669-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you through the picturesque area of Sandjochmoos and Wechselkessel. The trail features an elevation gain of 837 meters and is estimated to take around 5 hours to complete.

As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area conveniently located at the trailhead. Make sure to top up your water supply here before delving into the challenging terrain ahead. About 2 kilometers into the hike, you'll encounter a wayside shrine, adding a touch of historic charm to your adventure.

Further along the trail, at the 3.02-kilometer mark, a drinking water station will provide a much-needed break and refreshment stop. Take a moment to soak in the surrounding views from the viewpoint at the 3.33-kilometer point, offering a rewarding panorama of the landscape.

Keep an eye out for informative signs scattered along the route, providing interesting tidbits about the area's natural and cultural significance. Additionally, there are a couple of water features nearby, although they are not directly on the trail.

As you reach the halfway point of the hike, be prepared for a challenging ascent and rough terrain. The route offers a varying degree of difficulty, so ensure you are equipped with proper hiking gear, sufficient water, and snacks.
