This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area of Sentier du Grand Arc, offering stunning views and a challenging adventure. The trail is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 7.521 kilometers and an elevation gain of 847 meters, making it a difficult hike that will test your endurance.
As you start your journey, you will come across the Parking de Champenay, located right at the beginning of the trail. Further along, at the beginning as well, you will find the Abri de Champeney, a shelter for hikers to rest and take in the surroundings.
Midway through the hike, at a distance of 2.84 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Refuge du Marret, a wilderness hut where you can take a break and enjoy some peace and quiet.
At around 3.76 kilometers from the start, there are two water points, providing you with a chance to refill your water bottles and stay hydrated throughout the journey.
Along the trail, you will also come across various information points such as Le Champeney, Le Sentier du Grand Arc, and Le Marret, offering insights into the area's history and natural beauty.
