This challenging hiking route will take you through the stunning alpine landscape of Piz Terza. The total distance of the out-and-back trail is approximately 9.7 kilometers, with an elevation gain of 1133 meters, making it a difficult trek that will take around 5 hours to complete.
Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by the parking area, conveniently located right at the beginning of the route. As you make your way along the trail, you will come across the picturesque Stierberghütte alpine hut, situated at a distance of 2.56 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy some refreshments while taking in the breathtaking mountain views.
Continuing onwards, you will encounter the magnificent peak of Piz Urtiola, located 4.7 kilometers from the start of the trail. Be sure to stop and admire the impressive natural beauty of this iconic landmark. As you approach the turnaround point of the hike, you will also find the peak of Piz Terza, standing at the same distance as Piz Urtiola from the start.
Throughout the hike, you may come across informational signage about the area, located at a distance of 4.84 kilometers from the start. These signs provide valuable insights into the local flora, fauna, and geology, adding an educational aspect to your adventure.
