This hiking route takes you to the beautiful Picacho Alto area. The trail is 10.65 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 805 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 4 hours and 28 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area at the beginning of the trail. As you make your way towards Picacho Alto, you will pass by the biodilar Alayos restaurant, where you can stop for a break and refuel. About midway through the hike, you will reach the Collado de Abantos saddle, offering stunning views of the surrounding natural beauty.
The highlight of the hike is reaching the Picacho Alto peak at 5.33 kilometers into the trail. Here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the area before making your way back. Just before the end of the trail, you will find the entrance to the Cueva del Saúco cave, although it is a short distance off the main trail.
