This challenging hiking route takes you to Reiŋa Karo, Oroŋo, and Isla de Pascua, located in a stunning area with beautiful views. The trail spans a distance of 7.5 kilometers with an elevation gain of 240 meters, making it a difficult yet rewarding trek.
You'll start your journey at the parking area and head towards the archaeological site of Petroglyph Rano Kau, located midway through the trail. Here, you can admire ancient rock carvings that provide a glimpse into the rich history of the region. Continuing on, you'll reach the 360° Rano Kau viewpoint, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surroundings.
Further along the trail, you'll come across the ruins of ʻŌroŋo, a historic site that adds to the cultural significance of the hike. As you make your way back, be sure to stop at the Vai Ha ‘ari restaurant for a refreshing break before heading to the cave entrance of Ana Kai Taŋata for a unique natural experience.
Throughout the hike, you'll encounter several benches where you can take a moment to rest and soak in the tranquil atmosphere.
