This extremely difficult 16.986 km circular hiking route will take you to the majestic Geißspitze peak, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding area. The trail begins at Montabella restaurant, where you can grab a bite before starting your journey.
As you make your way along the trail, you'll come across various points of interest. At the beginning of the hike, you'll find parking facilities conveniently located just 3.22 meters from the trail. Further along the route, there are information points providing insights into the area's history and geography.
Around the 5.4 km mark, you'll reach Lindauer Hütte, a non-smoking alpine hut where you can take a break and soak in the alpine atmosphere. Continuing on, you'll encounter Gauenhütte and Gauertalhaus restaurants at a distance of 1.48 km and 1.54 km from the trail, respectively.
As you approach the midpoint of the hike, you'll find yourself at a height of 1.17 km from the start, where you can replenish your water supply from the drinking water points along the trail. Additionally, there are wayside shrines and more information points to enhance your experience.
Finally, after a challenging ascent, you'll reach the Geißspitze peak at 7.88 km from the start, where you can revel in panoramic views before beginning your descent. Make sure to bring plenty of water, pack some snacks, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this rewarding but demanding hike.
