Welcome to the 2nd Burroughs Mountain hiking route! This challenging 9.4-kilometer circular trail offers stunning views and a variety of points of interest along the way.
Starting at the Sunrise Visitor Center, located 0.2 kilometers from the trailhead, hikers can gather information about the area before embarking on their journey. As you begin your hike, you'll pass by the Snack Bar (0.18 km) where you can grab some refreshments for the trip.
Further along the trail, at 2.42 kilometers from the start, you'll encounter the Mount Fremont Trail and Wonderland Trail information points, providing valuable insights into the surrounding landscape. Make sure to take a break at the bench and drinking water station (0.18 km) to rehydrate and rest before continuing.
As you approach the midpoint of the hike, you'll reach the 2nd Burroughs Mountain peak (4.58 km), offering panoramic views of the surrounding natural beauty. Nearby, the shelter (4.58 km) provides a place to pause and take in the scenery.
On the way back, be sure to stop by the Frozen Lake Viewpoint (2.25 km) and Yakima Park Viewpoint (2.23 km) to admire the picturesque landscapes. Before concluding your hike, visit the viewpoints, benches, and Ranger Station (all 0.2 km) for a final glimpse of the breathtaking surroundings.
