Welcome to Mather Memorial Parkway! This hiking route is a super easy out-and-back trail that spans a distance of 0.792 kilometers with no elevation gain. The trail is perfect for all skill levels and offers a leisurely stroll through the beautiful surroundings.
As you begin your journey, you will come across a convenient parking area right at the start of the trail. Be sure to pack some water and snacks to keep you hydrated and fueled during your hike. Along the way, you will pass by several picnic sites, ideal for taking a break and enjoying a lovely meal amidst nature.
As you continue on the trail, you will come across the Stephen Tyng Mather Memorial, a historic landmark dedicated to the first director of the National Park Service. This memorial is located just a short distance from the trail and serves as a reminder of the rich history of the area.
Further along the route, you will find viewpoints that offer breathtaking vistas of the surrounding landscape. Take a moment to pause and soak in the beauty of Upper Tipsoo Lake, located about 0.32 kilometers from the start of the trail.
