Welcome to the hiking route to Rinnennieder!
Located in a picturesque area, this trail offers a challenging yet rewarding experience for hikers. With a total distance of 13.018 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1118 meters, this route is classified as extremely difficult, so make sure to be well-prepared before embarking on this adventure.
Starting at the Parkplatz Oberissalm parking lot, you will begin your journey towards Rinnennieder. Along the way, you will encounter various Points of Interest (POIs) that will enhance your hiking experience.
Approximately 5.54 kilometers into the trail, you will come across Rinnensee, a beautiful water feature that provides a serene spot to take a break and enjoy the surroundings. Continuing onwards, at around 2.73 kilometers from the start, you will find the Franz-Senn-Hütte, a restaurant and alpine hut where you can refuel and rest before continuing your hike.
As you trek further, you will pass by the Alpein Alm restaurant at 1.84 kilometers from the start and the Oberissalm alpine hut at the beginning of the trail. Additionally, you will encounter various viewpoints, benches, and informational points along the way, providing insights into the surrounding nature and history of the area.
One notable attraction on the route is the Edelweiss Klettersteig via ferrata, located around 3.47 kilometers from the start. This challenging section offers a thrilling climbing experience for those looking to push their limits.
The trail culminates at Rinnennieder, a natural saddle point offering stunning views of the surrounding Stubaier Alps. It is a perfect spot to relax and soak in the beauty of the landscape before heading back towards the starting point.
