This hiking route is located in the beautiful area around Straßentunnel Süd. The trail is circular and covers a distance of approximately 11.5 kilometers with an elevation gain of 249 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take around 3 hours and 16 minutes to complete.

Along the way, hikers will come across several points of interest. At the beginning of the trail, there is a historic wayside shrine located just 1.09 kilometers from the start. Further along, at a distance of 5.66 kilometers from the beginning, there is a refreshing water source where you can fill up your water bottles.

As you continue on the trail, you will encounter the Erzberg peak, located 3.81 kilometers from the start, although it is slightly off the main trail. Additionally, there is a poignant memorial called Mahnmal Todesmarsch 1945, located right on the trail at the start of the hike. This memorial provides insight into the historical significance of the area.

For those driving to the trailhead, there are two parking areas available at the start of the hike, with one located just 11 meters from the trailhead and the other one at a distance of 42 meters.
