This challenging 7.4-kilometer circular hiking route takes you through the beautiful natural landscape surrounding Finestra Vandelli. The trail has an elevation gain of 910 meters and is estimated to take around 4 hours to complete.
Starting at the trailhead, you'll pass by a parking area before heading into the wilderness. Around the 3-kilometer mark, you'll come across a wilderness hut where you can take a break and soak in the surroundings. Further along the trail, at approximately 1.4 kilometers into the hike, you'll encounter the ruins of Ponte di Pisciarotto, adding a touch of historic charm to your journey.
As you continue on, be sure to stop and admire the stunning views from the Finestra Vandelli viewpoint, located 3.2 kilometers into the hike. This is a perfect spot to rest and refuel before tackling the rest of the trail.
Throughout the hike, you'll have opportunities to replenish your water supply at designated drinking water stations along the way. Additionally, midway through the hike, you'll find Rifugio Nello Conti, an alpine hut where you can take a longer break and perhaps enjoy a meal.
For those interested in history, there are also ruins and a wayside shrine to explore along the trail. As you make your way back towards the starting point, be sure to check out the cafe for a well-deserved treat.
Due to the length and elevation gain of the trail, this hike is considered difficult and is best suited for experienced hikers.
