This hiking route, known as Sentiero Carlo Mattio, is a challenging circular trail with a distance of approximately 6.7 kilometers and an elevation gain of 679 meters. The estimated duration for this hike is around 3 hours and 15 minutes.

The trail begins at a parking area located at the trailhead. As you start your journey, you will come across the Rifugio Mulatero Alpine Hut at a distance of 2.11 kilometers from the starting point. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy the surrounding alpine scenery.

Continuing on, at around 2.05 kilometers into the hike, you will find the Croce di Sanfront peak, although it is slightly off the main trail. This peak provides a stunning panoramic view of the area and is definitely worth the short detour.

As you make your way along the path, you will encounter the Miravidi Alpine Hut at a distance of 0.22 kilometers from the start. This is another ideal resting place where you can refuel before continuing on your journey.

Around 2.12 kilometers into the hike, you will find a drinking water station, perfect for rehydrating along the way. Further ahead, at approximately 2.17 kilometers, there is a BBQ spot where you can have a picnic and enjoy a meal in the midst of nature.

At 3.14 kilometers, there is a viewpoint that offers breathtaking vistas of the surrounding landscape. Take a moment to soak in the beauty of the natural scenery before continuing on the trail.

Throughout the hike, you will also come across multiple drinking water stations and a natural spring called Sorgente Vigin Riva at various points along the way, ensuring you stay hydrated during the challenging trek.

With a mix of alpine huts, peaks, viewpoints, and sustenance stations, this hike offers a diverse range of experiences for nature enthusiasts. Due to the length and elevation gain, this trail is categorized as difficult, so be prepared with proper gear and sufficient water.
