This challenging 6.777-kilometer circular hiking route will take you through the stunning natural beauty of Rocca la Croce. The trail starts at a convenient parking area and immediately takes you to the Caverna / riparo cave entrance, located 1.9 kilometers from the start of the hike. Be sure to explore this fascinating natural wonder before continuing on.
As you journey along the trail, you will encounter the Fontana di meira Paseri drinking water stop at 0.23 kilometers from the start, offering a refreshing break. Further along, at 1.77 kilometers from the beginning, you will reach the Roccia Appia viewpoint, where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views.
Continuing on, the Betulla solitaria viewpoint at 2.23 kilometers from the start offers another opportunity to marvel at the natural beauty of the area. You will also pass by the Roccia Smoine archaeological site, with its impressive rock engravings, located 1.95 kilometers from the start.
At the midway point of 3.25 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Rocca la Croce peak, a highlight of the hike offering stunning vistas of the surroundings. Take some time to soak in the panoramic views before continuing on.
As you make your way back, you will pass by the ruins of Meira Piruna at 0.91 kilometers from the start, adding a touch of historic charm to your hike. Be sure to stop by the Croce dell'Amicizia wayside cross at 2.79 kilometers from the start for a moment of reflection.
Throughout the hike, you will also come across several springs offering fresh water, perfect for refilling your water bottle. Remember to bring an adequate water supply, as well as snacks and proper hiking gear. The trail encompasses a total elevation gain of 594 meters and is rated as difficult due to its length and elevation.
