Welcome to the hiking route on D 639! This 14.63-kilometer trail offers a challenging experience with an elevation gain of 929 meters, making it extremely difficult but rewarding for experienced hikers.
Starting at the parking lot near Ancienne église Saint-Nicolas, you will pass by the ruins of the old church around 1.97 kilometers into the hike. As you continue, you'll reach the Favalta spring at the 5.33-kilometer mark, providing a refreshing stop along the way.
Around 6.56 kilometers into the hike, you'll come across an information point to learn more about the area. As you push further, at 7.08 kilometers, you'll encounter another spring to refill your water bottles.
At the 7.32-kilometer mark, a viewpoint awaits, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Make sure to take a moment to appreciate the beauty that nature has to offer.
As you approach the midway point at 5.39 kilometers, the Favalta shelter provides a rest spot where you can take a break and recharge before continuing your journey.
Towards the end of the trail, at 13.141214821151296 kilometers, you'll find a drinking water source to hydrate before heading back. The endpoint also includes another viewpoint at 12.19643769489477 kilometers to soak in the last glimpses of the scenic route.
