This challenging 8.3-kilometer circular hike will take you to the stunning Unterberg area. Starting from the Drahtal parking area, you will begin your journey surrounded by picturesque scenery. Make sure to check the forecast before you head out and bring plenty of water.
As you make your way along the trail, you will come across several points of interest. About 3.96 kilometers from the start, you will reach the impressive peak of Unterberg. Take in the panoramic views before continuing on to the Unterberg Schutzhaus alpine hut, situated 3.41 kilometers from the start, where you can rest and refuel.
Along the way, you will also encounter historic waypoints like the Schwaiger-Gedenkstein memorial and natural attractions such as the Myralucke and Miralucke cave entrances. Keep an eye out for the Trafelquellen spring and enjoy a break at the various benches scattered throughout the route.
As you near the end of the hike, approximately 3.92 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Gipfelkluft cave entrance, adding a touch of adventure to your journey.
