Welcome to the hiking route to Unginoko putzua!

This extremely difficult 12.203-kilometer out-and-back trail offers a challenging but rewarding experience for hikers. With an elevation gain of 566 meters, be prepared for a strenuous journey that will take approximately 4 hours and 14 minutes to complete.

The trail starts at a parking area, making it easily accessible for hikers. As you venture along the path, you will come across various points of interest. Approximately 1.58 kilometers from the start, you will find the Dolmen Campas de Oletar, an archaeological site that provides insight into the area's history.

Further along the trail, at around 5.37 kilometers from the start, you will encounter the Atatxa cave entrance known as Atatxa. This natural wonder offers a unique opportunity for exploration.

As you continue your hike, be sure to stay hydrated. About 0.34 kilometers from the start, you will find the Los Nudos drinking water point, where you can refill your water supply.

For a refreshing break, there are several springs along the trail. At 6.1 kilometers from the start, you will come across Pozo de Ungino, followed by multiple spring points at various distances from the trail.

Before reaching your final destination at Unginoko putzua, you will also pass by the Unginoko leihoa/Ventana de Ungino cave entrance at 4.89 kilometers from the start.

As this is an extremely difficult hike, it is essential to come well-prepared with sturdy hiking gear, plenty of water, and snacks. Additionally, check the weather forecast before embarking on this adventure to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
