This hiking route will take you to the beautiful Sunapee Mountain area. The trail is 8.331 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 453 meters, making it a difficult hike. It is an out-and-back route, starting at a parking area located at the trailhead.
As you begin your hike, you will pass by a lovely beach situated just a few meters from the trail. This spot is perfect for a quick break to enjoy the serene surroundings. Continuing on, at around 2.69 kilometers from the start, you will come across a shelter where you can rest and refuel before continuing your ascent.
Further along the trail, at 3.27 kilometers from the start, you will reach the South Peak, a notable peak in the area offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The White Cliff overlook at 4.04 kilometers from the start is another highlight of the hike, providing an excellent vantage point to take in the beauty of Sunapee Mountain.
As you near the turnaround point of the hike, at 4.17 kilometers from the start, you will reach the main peak of Sunapee Mountain. This is the perfect spot to take a breather and admire the breathtaking views before making your way back.
Throughout the hike, be sure to bring plenty of water, as well as snacks to keep your energy levels up. It is also advisable to check the weather forecast before heading out, as conditions can change quickly in mountainous regions.
