This challenging hiking route in the Zaburu area covers a distance of approximately 11.7 kilometers with an elevation gain of 714 meters. The total duration of the hike is estimated to be around 4 hours and 30 minutes.
Starting at the Centro de visitantes, you will find convenient parking spaces nearby as you begin your journey. Make sure to bring enough water and check the weather forecast before embarking on this adventure.
As you trek along the trail, you'll come across a refreshing water source at around the beginning of the route, making it a perfect spot to refill your water bottles. Further along the trail, at approximately 5.2 kilometers from the start, you'll reach the Dolmen Otsolepo archaeological site. Take a moment to explore this historic site and appreciate the ancient remnants.
Continuing onwards, at the 4.75-kilometer mark, you'll encounter the peak of Oindo, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. About midway through the hike, at 3.68 kilometers from the start, you'll find the Menhir Usobelartza, another archaeological site worth visiting.
Towards the end of the hike, at approximately 5.85 kilometers from the start, you'll reach the peak of Zaburu, providing a rewarding sense of accomplishment. As you make your way back, stop by the Plazaolako bidea Leitzaran bailaran for some additional information about the area.
