This extremely difficult 14.5-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you to the stunning Monte Muretto area. The trail starts at the parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on this challenging adventure.
As you make your way along the path, you'll pass by several points of interest. About 1 kilometer into the hike, you'll come across the Foresteria della Certosa alpine hut, where you can take a break and enjoy the mountain views. Further along the trail, at around 6.2 kilometers from the start, you'll find the beautiful Lago Rosso (Red Lake), a perfect spot for a picturesque rest stop.
Continuing onwards, at about 6.8 kilometers from the start, you'll reach Colle del Vento (Windy Pass), offering sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. As you approach the peak of Monte Muretto at 7.24 kilometers, the trail becomes more challenging, but the panoramic vistas at the top make it all worthwhile.
Throughout the hike, be sure to stay hydrated and pack enough water, as this is a long and demanding trek. Additionally, check the weather forecast before setting out to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
