The Ladera de Matas hiking route offers a moderate challenge with a distance of approximately 5.125 kilometers and an elevation gain of 205 meters. The duration of the hike is estimated to be around 1 hour and 41 minutes.

Located in a beautiful natural area, the route begins at the parking area, which is conveniently located at the trailhead. Be sure to start your hike prepared with enough water, as there are a few points of interest along the way where you can refill your bottles.

One of the first points of interest you will encounter is the Fuente de la Beceilla, a drinking water source located 1.33 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to take a break and rehydrate before continuing on your journey.

As you hike further along the trail, you will come across the Embalse de los Almorchones, a picturesque reservoir just 0.01 kilometers from the trail. This is a great spot to admire the natural surroundings and maybe even have a picnic.

Further along the route, at 2.16 kilometers from the start, you will reach the stunning Embalse Maliciosa, another reservoir that offers a peaceful setting to enjoy the views and rest before heading back.

Throughout the hike, you may also come across various peaks and saddles, such as the Collado de Majaespino and Peña de las Poyatas, which provide panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
