The Hacklberg-Trail in Saalbach-Hinterglemm is an extremely difficult circular hiking route, spanning a distance of approximately 13.5 kilometers with an elevation gain of 938 meters.
Starting at the trailhead, hikers will pass by the Speicherteich Gerstreit at the beginning of the route, which is a natural water feature located about 1 kilometer from the start. As you continue on the trail, around the 2 kilometer mark, you'll come across the Bergstadl, a restaurant and alpine hut where you can take a break and refuel.
Throughout the hike, you will encounter various natural water sources, such as the ones located at the 6 kilometer and 5.8 kilometer marks. These spots are great for refreshing and replenishing your water supply. Additionally, the trail passes by the Hacklbergalm restaurant around the 4.9 kilometer mark, providing another opportunity to rest and enjoy some local cuisine.
As you make your way along the trail, be sure to stop and appreciate the beautiful Seetörl saddle at the 6.1 kilometer mark, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Along the route, there are also benches and informational points scattered at different points, providing a place to rest and learn more about the area.
