This extremely difficult hiking route will take you on an out-and-back journey to the majestic Pointe de Chaurionde. The 10.368-kilometer trail offers a challenging elevation gain of 1320 meters, making it suitable for experienced hikers seeking a strenuous adventure.
Starting at the parking area, you will set off towards the Pointe de Chaurionde. Along the way, you will encounter several points of interest. About 4.57 kilometers from the start, you will come across a shelter where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding landscape.
As you continue your ascent, at the 3.72-kilometer mark, you will reach the Col des Drizons, a saddle offering panoramic views of the area. Nearby, you will also find the Col du Drison information point, providing insights into the local flora and fauna.
Around the 2.68-kilometer mark, you will pass by the refreshing Col du Haut du Four spring, perfect for replenishing your water supply. Further ahead, at the 3.5-kilometer mark, you will encounter Le Parc du Mouton peak, offering a picturesque setting for a brief rest.
Finally, after a challenging hike, you will reach the highlight of the trail, Pointe de Chaurionde, located 5.18 kilometers from the start. Take in the breathtaking views from the peak before retracing your steps back to the parking area.
