This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Lac Merlat, offering stunning views of the lake and its surroundings. The trail is an out-and-back route, starting at an elevation of 1456 meters and reaching a destination at 2047 meters.

Along the way, you will encounter various points of interest. At just 1 kilometer into the hike, you will come across Baraque du Colon, a wilderness hut where you can take a break and enjoy the serene atmosphere. Further along, at a distance of 3 kilometers, you will find another wilderness hut called Baraque des Carriers, offering another opportunity to rest and take in the surroundings.

For those in need of refreshment, there is a drinking water point located at a distance of 1 kilometer from the starting point. Additionally, if you are interested in exploring caves, there is a cave entrance named "sans nom" located 1 kilometer into the hike.

As you continue on the trail, you will pass by a wayside cross called Croix Pourroy at a distance of 2 kilometers, adding a touch of history to your hike. You will also come across a viewpoint at 3 kilometers, providing a perfect spot to pause and admire the landscape.
