This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Soum de Monpelat. The trail is a total of 4.759 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 584 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 2 hours and 33 minutes to complete.

As you begin your journey, you will come across a parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before starting the hike. Shortly after starting, at a distance of 0.2 kilometers from the trail, you will find Chalet - Hôtel Orédon, a cozy alpine hut where you can rest and grab a bite to eat.

Continuing on the trail, at approximately 1.56 kilometers from the start, you will reach Col d'Estoudou, a picturesque saddle in the area. From here, you can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Further along, at 2.38 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the peak of Soum de Monpelat, offering panoramic views that are worth the effort.

Along the way, you will also come across Chalet refuge du Lac, a restaurant where you can refuel and relax. Additionally, there are viewpoints and a campsite, Aire de bivouac, for those looking to take a break and soak in the scenery.

For your convenience, there are drinking water sources available at Hount du Cap D'Estoudou, as well as a shelter at 0.2 kilometers from the trail, Chalet refuge du Lac, where you can seek refuge if needed. Lastly, at a distance of 1.49 kilometers from the start, you will find another viewpoint offering breathtaking views of the area.
