Welcome to the Lavalade hiking route, a challenging 12.158-kilometer circular trail that offers stunning views and a variety of points of interest along the way.
The hike begins at a parking area located at the trailhead, where you can leave your vehicle before starting your adventure. As you set out on the trail, you'll pass by another parking area situated 0.09 kilometers from the starting point.
About midway through the hike, at approximately 5.98 kilometers from the start, you'll come across a historic castle that adds a touch of intrigue to the journey. Nearby, at 5.46 kilometers, there is a shelter where you can rest and refuel before continuing on.
Throughout the hike, you'll encounter several natural water sources, perfect for filling up your water bottle and enjoying a refreshing break. These water stops are conveniently located at various points along the trail, ranging from 5.44 to 5.99 kilometers from the start.
As you near the end of the hike, you'll pass by a picnic site at 3.6 kilometers and a café at 3.52 kilometers, where you can relax and grab a bite to eat. Additionally, you'll come across a historic site featuring the ruins of a castle at 3.62 kilometers from the start.
With an elevation gain of 136 meters, this extremely difficult hike will challenge both your endurance and strength. Be sure to come prepared with plenty of water, snacks, proper hiking gear, and a positive attitude.
