This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route takes you through the stunning area of Eisboden. The trail spans a distance of approximately 13.5 kilometers with a challenging elevation gain of 929 meters, making it a strenuous but rewarding adventure.
As you start your journey, you'll come across Grünsee, a tranquil water body located just 1.16 kilometers from the trail. Along the way, you'll find several points of interest including various benches for resting, informational displays such as the Info-Ausstellung "BahnStrom," and refreshing springs like the one 3.79 kilometers into the hike.
Midway through the trail, around the 6.5 kilometer mark, you'll encounter multiple water features including natural springs, all within close proximity to the trail, offering a refreshing break amidst the challenging terrain. Additionally, at 5.89 kilometers into the hike, you can also enjoy the sight of a beautiful waterfall.
For sustenance, the Gasthaus Grünsee restaurant is conveniently located 1.59 kilometers from the trail. If you need a break and some local fare, this is a great spot to refuel.
