Welcome to the hiking route to Las lagunas de Claveles y los Pájaros in the beautiful area of Peñalara. This challenging route covers a distance of 8.916 kilometers with an elevation gain of 517 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding hike that will take approximately 3 hours and 21 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you'll pass by Laguna Chica de Peñalara at 1.75 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. This serene water body offers a picturesque spot to take a break and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. Further along the trail, around 3.72 kilometers in, you'll come across another water feature, followed by several more on-trail water points at various distances, providing ample opportunities to replenish your water supply.
Around the midway point of the hike, at 2.1 kilometers, you'll find convenient parking and benches for a quick rest stop. A short distance away, at 2.53 kilometers, is the Mirador de Javier viewpoint, offering stunning panoramic views of the area. As you continue onwards, you'll encounter a peak at 3.02 kilometers from the start, providing a challenging but worthwhile ascent.
Towards the latter part of the hike, at 4.22 kilometers, you'll reach Laguna de los Claveles, another beautiful water feature that adds to the scenic charm of the route. Finally, at 3.93 kilometers from the start, you'll come across a natural saddle, offering a unique geological feature to explore before heading back.
