Welcome to the hiking route to Veliki Muzec in the Gabrovec area. This 8.865-kilometer long trail offers a challenging hike with an elevation gain of 1032 meters, making it suitable for experienced hikers looking for a rewarding adventure.

Starting at the parking area, you will begin your journey along the trail, surrounded by the natural beauty of the area. About 3.84 kilometers into the hike, you will come across Mali Muzec, a peak that offers stunning views of the surroundings, although it is slightly off the main trail.

Continuing on, you will reach Bivak pod Muzcem, a shelter located about 4.13 kilometers from the start, providing a resting spot for hikers. Along the way, you will also encounter various information points that offer insights into the area's flora, fauna, and history.

As you approach the midway point of the hike, you will reach Prekopa, another peak offering panoramic views of the landscape. The trail eventually leads you to Veliki Muzec, the main destination of the route, located at a distance of 4.43 kilometers from the start. This peak, also known as Gabrovec, rewards hikers with breathtaking views from its summit.

It is important to note that this is an out-and-back route, so you will retrace your steps on the way back to the starting point. Be sure to bring plenty of water, wear sturdy hiking shoes, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging adventure.
