This hiking route takes you to the Grandes Platières area, offering stunning views and challenging terrain. The trail is 13.932 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 1343 meters, making it extremely difficult and suitable for experienced hikers.
At the beginning of the route, you will find a parking area for your convenience. As you start your journey, you will pass by the Col de la Portette, a scenic saddle point located 5.39 kilometers from the start. Along the trail, you will also encounter various water features such as Les Laouchets and several information points like Désert de Platé and La Portette.
Midway through your hike, at approximately 4.13 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Refuge de Platé, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy some rest. The hut offers accommodation and has a website for more information.
As you continue on the trail, you will come across more water points like Les Laouchets and stunning viewpoints such as the one located 3.67 kilometers from the start.
