Hiking : Sommet de la Fage

This hiking route takes you through the stunning natural beauty of the area surrounding Sommet de la Fage. The trail is a circular route with a total distance of approximately 10.96 kilometers and an elevation gain of 456 meters, making it a challenging but rewarding hike.

As you begin your journey, you will first come across Abbaye de Bonnevaux, a historic ruins site located just 1.52 kilometers from the start of the trail. This ancient abbey offers a glimpse into the area's rich past and is a great starting point for your adventure.

As you continue along the trail, you will encounter Font de l'Aille, a beautiful fountain nestled 4.51 kilometers into the hike. This is a perfect spot to rest and refill your water bottle before continuing on.

Around the midway point of the hike, at approximately 5.25 kilometers from the start, you will reach the summit of Sommet de la Fage, a natural peak offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This is a great spot to take a break and snap some photos.

Throughout the hike, you will also come across various points of interest such as Nojaret, a tourist information site, as well as several historic memorials and wayside crosses.

It is important to note that the trailhead is conveniently located near a parking area, making it easy to access. However, it is always a good idea to bring plenty of water, wear appropriate hiking shoes, and check the weather forecast before setting out on this challenging but unforgettable adventure.
