This hiking route takes you through the beautiful Long Trail area, offering stunning views and a moderate level of difficulty. The total distance of the hike is 4.661 kilometers with an elevation gain of 349 meters, making it suitable for hikers with some experience.

You will start your journey at the parking area, located right at the trailhead. Before you begin, make sure to stop by the Smuggler's Cave Information Booth for some interesting insights into the area's history. As you make your way along the trail, you will come across a Historic Marker commemorating Smuggler's Notch, providing a glimpse into the past of this scenic location.

Midway through the hike, you will encounter Spruce Peak, a picturesque peak perfect for a rest stop and to take in the surrounding views. Further along the trail, you will reach Sterling Pond Trailhead, a popular spot for hikers to explore the area.

Towards the end of the route, at approximately 2.33 kilometers from the start, you will find a viewpoint offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This is a great spot to capture some memorable photos before turning back and retracing your steps to the starting point.
