This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route in the Ordunte area covers a distance of approximately 15.7 kilometers with an elevation gain of 791 meters. Make sure to prepare yourself adequately for this challenging hike by bringing plenty of water, snacks, and checking the weather forecast beforehand.
Starting at the Urtegi parking area, you will set off on the trail towards the peak of Ordunte. Along the way, you will come across a refreshing water source located approximately 7.46 kilometers from the start. This spot can be a great place to take a break and refill your water supplies.
As you continue on the trail, you will reach the peak of Ordunte at around 7.86 kilometers from the start. The summit offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area, making the challenging ascent worth it.
On your way back, you can stop by the Urtegi restaurant located near the parking area. If you need to refill your water bottle, there is also a drinking water source conveniently situated along the trail.
Keep in mind that this hike is not for the faint of heart, with its significant elevation gain and long distance. Take your time, pace yourself, and enjoy the natural beauty of the Ordunte area.
