This hiking route will take you through the stunning area surrounding monte Pollaro. The trail spans a distance of 20.061 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1184 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will test your endurance and skills.
As you begin your journey, you'll come across the Santuario di San Gerardo Maiella, a beautiful attraction located just 0.49 kilometers from the start of the trail. This sanctuary is a must-see for its cultural and historical significance.
Further along the route, at the 9.8 kilometer mark, you'll reach the majestic peak of monte Pollaro, where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This spot offers a perfect opportunity to rest and refuel before continuing your adventure.
During your hike, you'll also encounter the refreshing Fontana di Nunzio spring at the 8.85 kilometer mark, providing a much-needed break and a chance to replenish your water supply.
For sustenance along the way, make a stop at Bar Miglia, Pub Gerry, Trattoria Pizzeria Lo Spigolo, and Ristorante Albergo 7Bello, all conveniently located near the trail to keep you fueled and energized for the remainder of your journey.
As you make your way back to the starting point, be sure to check out the Parcheggio Materdomini Sud parking area, located right at the trailhead, where you can safely park your vehicle.
