Welcome to the Strada forestale Val Granda hiking route in Trento! This circular route covers a distance of 3.714 kilometers with an elevation gain of 324 meters, making it a moderate level hike that will take approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes to complete.
As you begin your journey, you'll find a parking area at the trailhead to start your adventure. From there, you'll soon come across a viewpoint 1.58 kilometers into the hike, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. As you continue along the trail, you'll encounter an Austrian ammunition depot, known as Fuciliera Austriaca, and the ruins of Fuciliera AustroUngarica at 1.44 kilometers from the start.
Further along the route, at 1.85 kilometers, you'll reach another viewpoint with a bench to rest and take in the scenery. Nearby, there are informational signs providing insights into the history of the area. Be sure to explore the "Croce in Pietra" wayside cross located at the beginning of the trail.
