This hiking route takes you through the scenic area around Serre Gros. The trail is 6.814 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 437 meters, making it a moderate difficulty hike. It is an out-and-back route, meaning you will retrace your steps on the way back.
As you start your hike, you will come across the Camping des Châtaigniers campsite, located just 0.03 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. Along the way, you will also find a viewpoint at 0.22 kilometers, offering stunning views of the surroundings. Further ahead, at 0.1 kilometers, there is a fast-food stop for a quick bite to eat.
At the midway point of the hike, around 2.16 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Rocher de la Tournelle peak. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy the panoramic views. As you continue on, at 3.41 kilometers, you will reach the Serre Gros peak, where you can take in the breathtaking scenery.
Remember to bring plenty of water, especially on hot days, as the trail does not have drinking water facilities along the way. It's also a good idea to check the weather forecast before heading out.
