This hiking route takes you to the beautiful Lacs de Baissette area in the Mercantour National Park. The total distance of the route is approximately 10.5 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1149 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take around 5 hours to complete.

Starting at the trailhead, you will first pass by Lac du Boréon, a picturesque lake located just 0.28 kilometers from the start. As you continue on the trail, you will come across the ruins of Vastiéra des Erps, a historic site 1.25 kilometers into the hike. Along the way, you will also find informative points of interest such as Ski de fond and Vacherie des Erps.

About halfway through the hike, at approximately 5.24 kilometers from the start, you will reach the stunning Lacs de Baissette. These pristine mountain lakes offer a perfect spot to take a break, enjoy the scenery, and maybe even have a picnic. Nearby, you'll also find the Alpha Les Loups du Mercantour attraction, where you can learn more about the local wildlife.

On your way back, you can stop at the Gite d'Étape du Boréon for some rest and refreshments before completing the hike. Remember to bring plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen, as well as to check the weather forecast before setting out.
