This extremely difficult hiking route takes you through the stunning landscapes of the Mercantour National Park. The route is an out-and-back trail with a total distance of 12.212 kilometers and an elevation gain of 665 meters.

You will start your journey at the Gite d'Étape du Boréon, where you can park your car and begin your adventure. As you make your way along the trail, you will come across several points of interest.

About 0.28 kilometers from the start, you will find Lac du Boréon, a beautiful lake where you can take a moment to appreciate the peaceful surroundings. As you continue on, at around 3.54 kilometers from the start, you will reach Chalet Vidron, a charming alpine hut where you can rest and enjoy the views.

Midway through your hike, at approximately 6.11 kilometers, you will reach Refuge de la Cougourde, another alpine hut where you can take a break and refuel before heading back.

Throughout the trail, you will also come across various water sources, including natural springs and shelters to provide you with some relief during your challenging trek.
