This hiking route will take you on a challenging adventure through the stunning area surrounding Mont Chalancha. With a distance of 12.453 kilometers and an elevation gain of 852 meters, this circular route is estimated to take around 5 hours to complete.

Starting off at a convenient parking area at the beginning of the trail, you'll pass by the Église classée - an mil, where you can take a moment to admire the surroundings before embarking on your journey. As you make your way along the trail, you'll come across the Col du Varaire and the informative Col du Varaire point.

Further along the route, you'll reach the Col des deux Caïres and the peak of Tête de Clans, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the region. Be sure to stop by La Balma for a quick rest and refreshment before continuing on.

As you near the end of the hike, you'll encounter Le Caïre Petit and Le Faut peaks, adding to the rugged beauty of the landscape. Take note of the various drinking water stations along the way to stay hydrated during your trek.

For history enthusiasts, a visit to the historic PO de Caïre-Gros (inachevé) fort is a must, showcasing the area's rich heritage.
