Welcome to the Mont Chalancha hiking route! This circular trail spans a distance of 12.453 kilometers with an elevation gain of 852 meters, making it an extremely difficult trek that will take around 5 hours to complete.
The trail starts at the parking area located at the trailhead, where you can find information about the route. As you begin your journey, you will pass by the Église classée - an mil and various benches where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding views.
Midway through the hike, you will encounter the Col du Varaire and the Tête de Clans peaks, offering panoramic vistas of the area. Further along the trail, you will reach the stunning Mont Chalancha peak, which marks the highest point of the hike. Take a moment to rest and appreciate the breathtaking scenery before continuing on.
As you make your way back, you will pass by the Col des deux Caïres saddle and the Le Caïre Gros peak. Be sure to stay hydrated by refilling your water supply at the drinking water stations along the trail.
