This hiking route will take you to the beautiful area around Pic des Calmettes. The trail is 10.049 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 689 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 4 hours and 2 minutes to complete.
Starting at the Plat des Peyres parking lot, you will begin your journey towards the Cabane du Pla de las Peyres, located just 0.07 kilometers from the trailhead. This wilderness hut offers a great resting spot early on in the hike. As you continue, you'll pass by the Cabane de Garsan at 1.49 kilometers from the start, providing another opportunity to take a break.
Further along the trail, at 3.12 kilometers from the start, you'll reach the Refuge du Rulhe, an alpine hut where you can rest and enjoy the stunning mountain views. The Col des Calmettes, a saddle point, is located at 4.4 kilometers from the start, offering a picturesque spot to admire the surrounding nature.
As you hike towards the Pic des Calmettes, you'll encounter informational points along the way, such as the Pla de las Peyres information point at 0.01 kilometers from the start and the Col des Calmettes information point at 4.4 kilometers from the start.
The endpoint of the hike is the Pic des Calmettes peak, located at 5.02 kilometers from the start. Here, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the area.
