Welcome to the hiking route to Wurmtalerkopf, a challenging and extremely difficult trail that spans 36.873 kilometers with an elevation gain of 2665 meters. This out-and-back route will take you approximately 15 hours to complete, so be prepared for a long and strenuous journey.
The hike starts at a parking lot with wheelchair access, located right at the beginning of the trail. As you make your way along the path, you will come across several points of interest. Around 8.83 kilometers into the hike, you will find a water source off the trail. At 10.32 kilometers, another water source can be found directly on the trail.
Around the 16.46-kilometer mark, you will encounter an alpine hut known as Gepatschhaus, which provides a great resting spot to refuel and enjoy the surroundings. As you continue on, you will pass by more water sources and even a waterfall named Bliggbach around 2.71 kilometers into the hike.
One of the highlights of the hike is reaching the peak of Wurmtalerkopf at 18.44 kilometers, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area. Additionally, at 17.68 kilometers, you will find another peak to explore.
Throughout the trail, you will also come across informational points, viewpoints, and shelters for additional resting spots and information about the area. It's important to stay hydrated, so make sure to bring enough water for the long journey ahead.
