This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route will take you through the stunning Kaunergrathütte area, offering breathtaking views and a challenging adventure. The trail spans a distance of 12.382 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1179 meters, making it suitable for experienced hikers.
Starting off at the parking area, you will immediately come across an informative sign providing details about the route. As you trek along, you will find benches and drinking water stations at various points, allowing you to rest and stay hydrated. Around 1 kilometer in, you'll encounter a beautiful waterfall, adding a natural touch to your journey.
At the 6.19-kilometer mark, you'll reach the Winterraum, a wilderness hut where you can take a break and enjoy the serenity of the surroundings. Continuing ahead, the Kaunergrathütte alpine hut will be another highlight of your hike, offering accommodation and a place to replenish your energy. Do keep in mind that there is a fee for staying at these accommodations.
