This hiking route takes you through the stunning area surrounding Argatone peak. With a total distance of 12.062 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1223 meters, this hike is considered extremely difficult and is suitable for experienced hikers.
Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by Lago Pio, a picturesque lake located 0.26 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. As you continue on, you will come across several drinking water stops along the way to keep you hydrated.
At the 4.4-kilometer mark, you will reach Rifugio Stazzo Montagna Grande, a wilderness hut where you can take a break and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Further along the trail, at 6.03 kilometers, you will reach the stunning peak of Argatone, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Throughout the hike, you will pass by various amenities such as parking areas and eateries like Da Michele restaurant and La Piazzetta cafe. These can be great spots to refuel and rest before continuing on your journey.
As this is an out-and-back route, you will retrace your steps on the way back to the starting point.
