Located in a beautiful alpine setting, this extremely difficult 16.653-kilometer out-and-back hiking route takes you to the stunning Rifugio Fontana Mura. With an elevation gain of 1360 meters, this challenging trail is not for the faint of heart.
Starting at the parking area, you will begin your ascent towards Rifugio Fontana Mura. Along the way, you will encounter points of interest such as the historic wayside shrine, a natural saddle named Colle della Roussa, and drinking water sources for you to refill your supplies.
As you make your way through the trail, be sure to stop by the information points scattered at various locations to learn more about the surrounding area. Keep an eye out for the drinking water sources to stay hydrated during your hike.
At approximately 7.13 kilometers into the trail, you will reach the wayside shrine and the natural saddle, offering a picturesque spot to rest and take in the beauty of the landscape.
