Lace up your hiking boots and get ready to explore the stunning Lokovec area with this challenging 7.771-kilometer out-and-back route. With an elevation gain of 469 meters, this hike is rated as difficult and is recommended for experienced hikers.

Starting at the parking area near the trailhead, you will begin your journey along the well-marked trail. The sound of rushing water will accompany you as you pass by a picturesque water feature just 46 meters from the start. Feel free to stop and take in the serene beauty of this natural oasis before continuing on.

As you venture further into the hike, you will come across another water feature known as Močilo na Kalu, located approximately 1.4 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to rest and refuel before tackling the more challenging sections of the trail.

Around the midway point of the hike, at 3.89 kilometers from the start, you will encounter a breathtaking viewpoint offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Take a moment to soak in the beauty before pushing onward to the peaks of Veliki vrh and Špile. These peaks, located at 3.89 and 2.92 kilometers from the start respectively, provide stunning vistas and a sense of accomplishment for reaching the summit.

For the more adventurous hikers, there is also the option to explore the Brezno v Špilah cave entrance located 2.37 kilometers from the start, although please note that this is slightly off the main trail.
