This challenging hike will take you through the picturesque area around Pierre Carrée. With a total distance of 11.945 kilometers and an elevation gain of 909 meters, this route will provide a good workout for experienced hikers.

Starting at Chalet du Lignon, the trail will lead you through beautiful scenery and past several points of interest. Along the way, you'll come across the Refuge de Sales, a mountain hut where you can take a break and enjoy the stunning views. The hut is located approximately 4.46 kilometers from the start of the trail.

As you continue on, you'll also pass by the Ruine de la Chapelle, a historic site with remnants of an old chapel just 4.35 kilometers from the start. Be sure to take in the natural beauty of the area, including the cascades and waterfalls like Cascade de la Sauffaz and Cascade de Sales, which are located 1.4 and 2.97 kilometers from the start, respectively.

The trail will also lead you to informative spots such as Chapelle de Sales and various viewpoints along the way. Make sure to stop by Résurgence, a natural spring 1.52 kilometers from the start, to replenish your water supply.

Although the hike is challenging, the stunning views and unique points of interest make it worth the effort.
