This hiking route will take you through the stunning area surrounding Pont des Mitaines. The 14.29 kilometers long trail offers a challenging hike with an elevation gain of 921 meters, making it extremely difficult but rewarding for experienced hikers.

As you start your journey, you will come across Chalet du Lignon, a cozy restaurant located right at the beginning of the trail. Make sure to fuel up before embarking on your adventure. Further along the trail, at a distance of 5.31 kilometers from the start, you will find Refuge d'Anterne Alfred Wills, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Along the way, you will encounter various points of interest such as Cascades d'Anterne, a mesmerizing waterfall at 4.09 kilometers from the start, and the historic ruins at a distance of 5.4 kilometers. Keep an eye out for water sources like the spring Résurgence located 1.41 kilometers from the start and other water points scattered throughout the trail.

For information and viewpoints, you will find several information spots and benches to rest along the way. Make sure to check out the Cascade de la Sauffaz and the Cascade de la Pleureuse, both beautiful waterfalls that add to the charm of this hike.
