The trail spans a distance of 8.6 kilometers with an elevation gain of 992 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek. Before embarking on this adventure, ensure you are well-prepared with plenty of water, snacks, and appropriate gear.

As you begin your hike, you will come across various points of interest along the way. Approximately 0.01 kilometers from the start, you will find a drinking water source at Les Fontaines. Further along, at the 0.2-kilometer mark, you can admire the striking Rocher des Fonts (1). As you continue, at 0.79 kilometers, you will encounter the historic Croix des Sprits, adding a touch of cultural significance to your journey.

At the 4.3-kilometer mark, you will reach the Refuge du Grenairon, an alpine hut where you can rest and take in the stunning surroundings. Nearby, there is also an information point at La Grand Joux, providing insights into the area's history and geography. Additionally, at the same distance, you will find a drinking water source to replenish your supplies.

As you make your way back along the trail, do not forget to stop by the Source de l'Épine for another opportunity to refuel. Keep an eye out for Rocher des Fonts (2) at the 0.55-kilometer mark, showcasing more of the natural beauty of the region.
