This extremely difficult 17.84-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will lead you to the majestic peak known as Pizzo Diei. The trail starts at a parking area and follows a challenging path with an elevation gain of 1462 meters.
Along the way, you will come across various points of interest. About 8.92 kilometers from the start, you will reach Pizzo Diei, a notable peak offering stunning views of the surrounding area. At around 6.28 kilometers from the start, you will encounter some historic ruins, adding a touch of intrigue to your journey.
As you continue on, you will also pass by Colle di Ciamporino, a saddle point located approximately 5.66 kilometers from the start. Be sure to stop by the drinking water station and bar about 0.2 kilometers from the start to refuel and stay hydrated.
While the hike is undoubtedly challenging due to its length and elevation gain, the picturesque views and unique landmarks along the way make it a rewarding adventure for experienced hikers. Remember to bring plenty of water, snacks, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this journey.
