This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area of Grotta Nera / Pečina nad Borštom in San Dorligo della Valle / Dolina. The trail is an out-and-back type, covering a distance of approximately 3.156 kilometers with no elevation gain, making it an easy hike suitable for all skill levels.
Along the way, you will come across several points of interest. At the beginning of the trail, you will find the memorial site of Foiba di Basovizza / Šoht, a historic site with rich significance. As you continue your hike, you will encounter two natural water points, offering a refreshing break around 1.58 and 1.57 kilometers from the start, respectively.
About 1.45 kilometers into the hike, there is a picnic site where you can rest and enjoy a meal surrounded by nature. Further along the trail at 1.51 kilometers, you will find the entrance to Grotta Nera, also known as Pečina nad Borštom, a natural cave worth exploring.
Throughout the hike, you will also pass by various information points providing insights into the area's history and landmarks. Additionally, benches are conveniently placed along the trail, offering spots to relax and take in the surroundings.
