Welcome to this super easy hiking route in the historic area with ruins and archeological sites.
The trail starts at the parking area near the trailhead. As you begin your hike, you'll come across an information center providing insights into the area's history just 0.03 kilometers from the start. Continuing on, you'll encounter ruins such as the northern Alexander house and the ancient synagogue at the beginning of the hike.
As you progress 0.33 kilometers into the hike, you'll reach the Roman theater complex of Herodion, followed by Herod's burial building located 0.41 kilometers from the start. The trail also leads you to the David Rosenthal viewpoint, offering stunning vistas along the way, about 0.15 kilometers from the start.
On your journey back, be sure to visit the round eastern tower and the mikveh at the southern tower, both providing a glimpse into the area's ancient heritage around 0.42 kilometers from the start. Don't forget to check out the water cisterns and the northern Alexander house ruins before concluding your hike at the same parking area where you began.
